Ralston Health Club Membership Handbook by Edmund Shaftesbury (1895)

$50.00

The Ralston Health Club was a wellness and lifestyle movement founded by Sylvester Graham in the 19th century. Graham was a Presbyterian minister and a dietary reformer who advocated for a simple, natural lifestyle, including dietary changes. The movement promoted a vegetarian diet, abstinence from alcohol and tobacco, and other healthful practices.

Sylvester Graham's emphasis on whole grains and a plant-based diet influenced the development of Graham flour, which is a coarsely ground wheat flour. The Graham cracker, initially created for its health benefits, also became associated with the movement.
